Supplement to Tic licfcorj Democrat Thursday, June 4, 1908. Liquor and the Drug Stores. Although the recent prohibi tion campaign, and all day yes terday at the polls prohibitionists were faced by the liquor advocate with the sale of liquor in the drug stores, and everywhere I have gone outside of Charlotte persons have said, "I learn you can get all the liquor you want in Charlotte in the drug stores," and some would say you can get it without r prescription. Now, Mr. Editor, I write to suggest that iir the nomination of candidates to the next legisla ture they be demanded to pledge themselves that a bill shall be introduced in the legislature to prohibit the haniling of liquor at all by the drug stores and that if it must be used for medical pur poses that it be kept in a reposi tory and given out exclusively for medical uses, and that a man be employed to keep a record of all prescriptions and to whom giv en, and that an/ physician giving a prescription falsely shall not only be debarred the privilege of practicing medicine in the State, but also fined SSOO or be put on the public roads in the discretion of the courts. We have had drug stores rung in our ears until I feel that the time has come to stop this ever, lasting gossip and slurs and flings that "prohibition does not prohi bit" and that you might as well have saloons as drug stores. In fact I feel like I would not vote for a man unless he was pledged to see that this thing shall stop. S. F. CONRAD. NO MEED OF SUFFERIFG FROM RHEUMATISM. It is a mistake to allow any one to suffer from rheumatism as the pain can always be relieved and in most cases a cure effected by applying Chamber lain's Liniment. The relief from pain which it affords is alone worth many times its cost. It makes sleep and rest possible. Even in cases of long standing this liniment should be used on account of the relief which it affords Do not be discouraged nntill you have given it a trial. For sale by W. S. Mar trn & Co. .
