Boone Items. , Lawson Woodring, aged 80 years, died at his home in Meet Camp on the 11th. He was one of the pioneers of this section and a gpod man. Miss Addie Shull, of Gordon, has gone to Baltimore to work in a millinery shop. Skyland Institute closed last week Wednesday. The farmers are jogging along with their work and are done planting—wheat is looking fine, so are oats, cotton is coming up I nicely. No peaches in the low land county, along the stream. Tne apple crop will also be a slim one. The evening of decorating the soldiers graves at Grace Church Jacobs Fork Township, was a grand success and passed off very nicely. It surpassed any decora tion we ever witnessed in the way of flowers. Some of the soldiers graves we e covered snd were a mass of flowers from heau to foot There was a prettv large crowd present, and the Hon. A. C. Shuford made an excellent ad dress, which was well appreciated by those present. There are twenty five old soldiers buried in this cemetery. The health of the people in the vicinity is pretty good. The sawmill band are still run ning their sawmill at full speed. Manly Lutz of Lincoln County made a visit to G. M. Yoders on business matter recently. The potato hanlers are still very busv hauling to market. L. A. Yoder had some repair ing done to his house the last week. There have been several deaths in this section of country of late. Jay Wilfong is preparing u i put up a large barn next week. There are now living in Jacobs Fork Township six old confede rate soldier* whose ages run from 82 to nearly 86 years.
