Whitener Feb. 22nd, was a box of delicious strawberries from Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shuford, of Ocala, Fla. The berries together *ith yellow jas mine, daffodils and other spring flowers, were packed in long moss and were received in perfect con dition, Several weeks ago Mrs. S. F. Watson went irom here to Hughes, Avery county to organ ize a mission school under the auspices of the Presbyterian church. After organizing this school she expected to go to Dawn, Mitchell county. The school at Hughes was left in the oharge of a young lady and just as Mrs, Watson had completed arrangements to go to Dawn to take charge of her school there she was taken seriously ill with neuralgia and lagrippe. Under great suffering she decided to come home and on arriving here was carried to the Richard Baker hospital where she received skill ful medical attention and at this writing is able to be taken to her home en 13th St Mrs. Watson says she dosen't know which she admires most, the skitiful medical attention of the physi cian, the convenient arrange ment of the hospital or the care ful and compassionate nursing of Miss Davidson.
