Thursday, Decembei 16 915 BETTER GO SLOW. We are very much surprised at an article in the Times-Mercury last week in which it advocated Mr. Jeff Fry for County Commis sioner. Not that Mr. Fry isn't a good man, but it is generally un derstood that the Couniy Officers shall hold their respective cffice for two terms. Mow do not get it. into your head that the Re publicans will elect any of the officers in 1916, for the Demo crats]are going to carry the coun ty. However, if we are to have a Republican County Commis sioner let it be Mr. W. S. Stroup. The Dixie Grey Chapter of the U. D. C'.. realized about $35 from the sale of articles Saturday. They wish to thar.k the friends* who so generously patronized them. Special thanks are due Mrs. Lee Latta for the efficient aid rendered; she can always be depended on to accomplish what she undertakes. Vinol, our delicious cod liver and iron tonic without oil, aids digestion, en riches the blood and creates strength. Unequalled for chronic coughs, colds or bronchitis. Your money back if it fails. —Lu:z's Drug Store, Hickory, NT C. WHY YOU ME NERVOUS Vhe nervous system is the alarm 6ystem of the human body. In perfect health we hardly realize that we have a network of nerves, but when health is ebbing, when strength is decline ing, the same nervous system gives the alarm in headaches, tiredness, dreamful sleep, irritability and unless corrected, leads straight to a breakdown. To correct nervousness, Scott's Emul sion is exactly what you should take; its rich nutriment gets iuto the blood and rich blood feeds the tiny nerve-cells while the whole system responds to its refresh ing tonic force. It is free from alcohol. Scott & liowne, Bleoinfield, N. J. TFlrst Mtetljodist (Tljurcb "P l)ilatl)castotcs In spite of the inclement wea ther there were 23 Philatheas presert.
