HOUSE.
The House of Representatives was
called to order at 11 o'clock yesterday
morning, and despite the late hour to
which the majority Populist members
were up the previous night, a large
per cent, of theui were in their seats I
when the call for order was made. I
The devotional exercises were con-

Central Methodist church.
The reading of the journal con-
suined about 20 minutes, and was fol- I
lowed by the introduction of petitions, I

There was a perfect storm of amend-
ments by members providing: that
their counties be included. Represen
tative Cook feared that members did
not fully understand to what compli
cations the measure might lead. On
motion of Mr. Lusk, the bill was re
committeed to the Judiciary Commit

Bill to transfer Daniel Whorlman to
the list of third class pensions.
Bill to regulate appeals to the Su
preme Court, so that on demand of
either party to a suit the Judge of the
lower court must forward the evidence
for the enlightenment of the Judges
of the higher court, passed second and

and sent to the Senate.
Bill to authorize the Treasurer of
Yadkin county to pay W. A. Holeman
a certain amount of money for teach-
ing a school in said county, parsed I

This bill proyides that administrators,
guardians, and executors be held crim
