ASSOCIATED PRESS REPORTS MONDAY JAN. 1, If 17 THE INTHUPKK AN EXPLANATION What a vast difference a little let ter can make in a word, in a sentence and in a paragraph. Our friend Dr. Murphy prepared at our request an ar ticle on the churches and pastors of Hickory, but the compositor in set ting up the article made the word "ever" read "never," which was quite the opposite of what Dr. Murphy wa9 sayinpf. If it were not for the fact that we know Dr. Murphy was mor tified by tho error, we would pass it by without comment, because ev erybody in Hickory, in North Carolina and the world knows that the Pres byterian church is today what it was centuries aj;o, a bulwark against sin. and its members are as steadfast in the faith as can be found in any church in the world. Since the foregoing was written, Dr. Murphy has handed the Record the following, which not only shows his Presbyterian friends what he thinks of them, but is a fine sermon itself: '''The intruder is one who forces himself into a place without an in vitation. At the wedding feast he is the guest without the wedding gar ment. If dinner is being served he presses in and "eats at the first ta ble." If two persons engage in a conversation he 'buts in' and airs his views. The intruder! What a con tern ptable fellow ho is: new ruon:sv. r; " FKOM MOLASS I P.y A aviated Honolulu. The result ing product, while still hot, is run into containers, where it is allowed to cool and solidify for about a week, becoming as hard as rock.
