A survey of; Wlinston-Salem and Forsyth county,1 embracing economic, industrial, social and educational interests, has just been begun by the extension depart-! ment of the university, and will be carried out on an extensive scale during the next few months. The specific lines of investigation are in charge of various members of the university faculty Prof. L. A. Wil liamst of the) schooj of education, and director of the correspondence work, will be in general charge of the school of survey by Prof. R. H. Latham, of the W nston-Salem oe'-'oo's l?rof. E. C. Branson will be general director of the economic and so ial survey of the county, and Prof C L. Raper, head of the depart ment of economics, will probably di rt t'oe industrial survey of the city of V. ''nston-Salem. The studies will hi published in book form about June 1 and it is the object of those behin i the survey to get a copy of this re port into the hands of every person n the county, as well as to make it i toxt-book in the schools. The Forsyth County Alumni As sociation of the University and the T'win-City Club are backing the sur vev, and providing facilities for car rving t out on a thorough scale. Prof. R. R. Latham is directing the work lo nlly 'The studies will be edited in Chanel Hill, but will be printed in the print shop of the Wlmston-Salem high school. Prof. L. A. Williams spent last week n Wanston-Salem. beginning the school survey, and will often visit Winston-Salem while the work is get ting started. Prof. E. C. Branson was ilso in Wlinston-Salem last week to begin his part of the work. Many of the Forsyth county studies have al ready been worked out here by mem bers of the North Carolina Club from the Twin City, lit was these studies which Dr. Biranson has 'n his files that inspired the authorities to extend the nature of the inquiries and to make a thorough-going and complete survey from many angles. The sur vey, therefore, will serve a model for similar work in the future, and will especially be a guide for condifons in the Piedmont section of the state. The local university alumni have made the work possible there for the extension department to secure the most satisfactory results. iPresent conditions of the schools as to buildings, equipment, financ'al sup port, teaching corps, supervision and administration featured, will be care fully studied and reported upon by Professor Williams, as well as hy gienic conditions, d'stribution of space, etc. in the school buildings. (Arrangements are now being made at the university for a spring page ant and community festival to the one held last year. This will come the first week in May. 'Shakespeare's Twelfth Night will be produced at night and there will be a pageant in the afternoon. A special outdoor stage will be constructed. It is planned to have all the agencies in the communitly participate, and there will be parts assigned to stu dents of the graded school, towns people, and students and faculty of the university will probably be produced. For three lor? years I suffered untold agony wi'ih wh they said was a se vere case of Rheumatism. Af ter the best doctors had ex hausted their knowledge in re gard to my case, I consultel an Osteopath and after an ex amination he said the h;p join'., had become irritated and it would take a long time to cure it, if it could be cured at all. I felt so discouraged over my condition, for I had spent hundreds of dollars in the vain pursuit of ease, for my suff ering was terrible. Hearing of ihe good effects that Mrs. Joe Person's Remedy had on oth ers, I decided to try it. I bougct a dozen bottles, thinking that if I took it at all, I would go at :t right. And wonderful, yes it is wonderful, the cure it maue of me, as my friends can test: fl I began to improve on the first bottle and by the time had finished the coarse I was a well, strong man and hav had no symptoms of the dis ease since. I would feel that I had nefc' lected mv dutv to my fellowmen if I did 'not tell them of my wonderful cure and I advise any sufferer to give Mrs. Jo Remedy a tnai. T. C. BRYAN" La Grange, N.
