Sellers left todav for Asheville, where he will enter Ap palachian hall to undereo treatment for probably a month. Caswell Sherrill. principal of the Bunn Level, Harnett county school the past session, and for two years principal of the West Hickory graded school, arrived in the city Tuesday night to spend the summer vacation. . Mrs. Sherrill is visiting: her mother in Alexander county. Mr. Sherrill is one of the best school men anywhere and he gave West Hick ory a good school. He has been re-elected as principal of Bunn Level. PAINFULLY BURNED WHILE . BURNING HONEYSUCKLE Mr. Boone Holder was very pain fully burned Saturday while burning honeysuckles on Mr. W. V. Wlatson's farm near Valmead. Mr. Holder had poured a lot of gasoline over the honeysuckle vines and when he applied the match the whole thing caught in a flush, severely burning Mr. Holder about the chest, face and hands. Little Miss Patterson Entertains On Monday morning at 10 o'clock, little Miss Ruth Patterson was at home to the senior class of Lenoir College. The occasion was a soap bubble party. This little lady re ceived her guests very graciously and was quite proud of her hair rib bon, which was of the senior col ors, red and gold. The porch was also decorated in these colors. Miss Ethel Setzer received the prize for blowing the greatest number of bubbles through the ring. The prize was a soap bubble pipe. Ruth is the senior mascot. Sou venirs were kodak pictures of Ruth, with a four leaf clover painted at the bottom. On the back was painted "Ruth and a four-leaf clover, We maid and a leaf of green, May we bring success and happiness ' to the class of '17." .Refreshments wfcse deJteious ice cream and cake.
