Chicago Every minute wasted on the road by slow, inefficient hauling and delivery costs you real money. Horses take from three to four times as long to cover the ground as it will take you when you install Smith Form-a-Trucks in your service. Three to four miles an hour n the best horses can do with a ton load. Smith Form - a -Truck replaces the slow, time wasting walk of horses with a speed of from ten to fourteen miles an hour under every condition of work. And it costs no more to buy a Smith Form - a -Truck than it does to buy a good puir of horses equal to the work of hauling a ton load. If your hauling or delivery requires all-day service every working day of the year, you must have at least two teams for every, wagon. The sturdy, efficient, untiring Smith Form-a-Truck never takes time out for rest, never has to lay off the job. It works steadily day in and day out, always maintaining its high speed, always moving its load quickly, easily, and at lower cost than any other form of service you can buy. Records of service obtained from over 13, 000 Smith Form-a-Truck users show a ton mile cost of less than 8 cents. And the first Smith Form-a-Truck ever sold has been in service four years, covered 20,000 miles and cost only $8 for repairs Get a Smith Form-a-Truck, attach it to any Ford, Dcdge Bros., Overland, Buick. Chevrolet or Maxwell chassis and end your excessive hauling and delivery cojt3. Put your hauling problems up to us. Every season ticket was sold by the opening day and the program was so universally enjoyed that the return of the Chautauqua for another season is assured. At Elizabeth City, N. C, the Chautau qua appeared for its fourth conse cutive season and was received with a grand parade and greater enthu siasm than ever. Similar, reports come from Kinston, Greenville and Tarboro, where the Chautauqua is now in session. Mr. Walter Gilbert, one of the Chautauqua boosters at Statesville was in Hickory yesterday and stated that they are now pre paring for their fourth annual Chau taqua program for this year are here ing campaign and there is every in dication of the usual cordial response on the part of the people. In all this circuit of the Chautauqua Associa tion will include eighteen towns of i North Carolina, after which it will proceed northward into Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvana, New Jersey, Delaware and New York. "Many of the members on the Chau taqua program for this year ore here because of their immense popularity in past seasons. The McKinnie Operatic Company, which is to sing a portion of the opera II Trovatore here tomorrow night is filling its fourth season with the Chautauqua Association, having been returned to to this circuit at the special request of Chautauqua committees in many towns. iMr. Frank Dixon, who is to lecture in Hickory n ;xt Tuesday night, is also on the program for the fourth year in response to pop ular demand. REPORT OF SINKING IS CONFIRMU) TODAY ery town where he has been hpr.l The biggest production of Chautau qua week, The Chimes of Norman dy, a comic opera with full cast, scenery, chorus and orchestra, gave one hundred consecutive perfor mances on the Chautauqua circuit last summer. It was heard on th "R" circuit in New England the Middle Atlantic states, and in Virginia and West Virnia. So great was its success that Director Paul M. Pear son engaged it again to be shown on this the "A" (circuit this vear. Chautauqua goers are unanimous in its praise, and many of tem hav often been heard to remark that it alone is worth the piia of a season ticket. Mr. Paul Fleming, magician of an unusual type, has also won his place on this program by his success on the "B" circuit. With entertain ers of such popularity and experience, and wth, the report of suacess that are coming from towns where the Chau tauqua is now in session, therefore, there is every indication that Hick ory is to have seven days of rare pleasure and true inspiration.
