In Moere County Sanford, Aug. 10. Very little interest was shown in the sud plementary school tax election held here to-day. Of the three hundred voters in the township 143 voted at this election; 132 voted against and 11 for the measure. Franklin Against Tax. Franklinton, Aug, 10. The vote at this precinct is 79 for, 82 against the school tax. It was thought the other two precincts in this township would go i gainst the tax. At ten o'clock at Louisburg only four out of 56 votes had been given for the tax. New Hanover Against - ' Wilmington, Aug. 10: Very: meagre returns of the election held to-dax-On the Question at ffriTfJal taxation for public schools fully, sustain the fore cast given in these dispatches laat night. The vote bo far as received is almost unanimously against the tax. In some pre cincts not a single vote was cast in its favor I HAVE QUIT MABBY1HG. If one may judge by return of the unlisted taxables made to the State Auditor by the Sheriff of Buncombe, there was not a marriage in that county last year. The price of a marriage license is 2.
