I am glad o state that I learned that Joe Walser, who has been sick, is improving. One other thing I found in this city, whiclx I was about to forget to tell about, is a starmiug big brick hoitse which stands on one of the largest hills I ever saw, there is a thing on the top of this house that looks some what like the Pinnacle on the Pilot Mountain', when a fellow goes on top of this thing he can almost see all out of doors. Then down on the ground, just at one side of this big house is a queer looking thing, it looks somewhat like an old fashion wash pet turned upside, down ar:d hanging in a frame, every morning about eight o'clock a boy goes up land shakes that pot of a thing and it. makes wonderful racket. Then it seems, to me that all the chil dren in town climbs that hill and flocks in that big house, then there is always a whopping big man With the kids who looks; like if he would -give them a back handed lick it would knock them crazy for ever and always, instead of him being a negro boss I call him a kid" boss and a good one too. Then there 'a kind of a thing they call thej Ciceronion Liter ary Society which meets in the College every Friday night, this society lias debates in general anl they tell me it is doing l 1,..,. ,v11 it- - ic ,l.l'nrY, '1 g ed work to make men out of j - the boys who attend it, I believe ai.i'it because 1 attended it one night and can feel the effects ; I already- and think I will forever, al Germeture. Payne has lately ar rived to attend this school, but is somewhat home-sick already, and I think if he don't get bet ter he will be to send home. But to lay all jokes aside, and take up facts I believe this is a fine little city and I know it has a good school and believe I know the school has a good Literary Society. Pat O. K.
