SherilT Rhodes canuot doilge the force of the blow bv at tnbutiug the charge 1 bring against him to a persoual grievance ou my part. Disffuise, it as he may the act remaius tne same, and the only questions that arise ire, is it true, or untrue? Il the latter, it is bis luty to disprove it, but lie cannot do it by a simple deuicl. It is not necessary now to substantiate the charges I make by bnnging out the proof. It will I) time enough to do that wheu he denies the alle- gatoin and attempts to set up evi dence to disprove it. Party fealty is not so exoctiuc as to require one to stultify himself by voting for a nominee who is uuder suspicion, aud unless SherilT Rhodes and Treasurer Youi.t dispel the cloud that now overihadoxt them, by substantial proof, their uaa.es will b scratcned on mora than one ticket. For some cause, unknown to my self, I have, on more than one oc casion, aisumed the dedicate role of a public censor, and when aroused by a sense of duty to strike for the public weal, the party to which the mau belonged wa no shield to protect him from the Mow. The sooner public officers are made to understand that political parties are only instruments tbrouch which th people hop, to accom plish certain rc sultatbat coodma? follow, tho mora certain will be the porpntuity of iRepublicnn institu tions.
