It is said that more horses and
mules die annually of colic than of
all other diseases combined. If
insurance companies would insure
agtiiust colic at anything like a
iciisnnslilo rate stockmen w ould
act wisely in 'ukinjr out policies.
The risk is so great, however, that
the price insurance companies re
quire is prohibitive, l'lie best
thinztodo is to use Ashcraft's
Condition Powders. It will pre
vent colic. To prove the genuine
ness of this assertion, uny horse or
nuilo that has an attack of colic,
when tho powders are used accord

cheerfully refunded. It is a fact
that of tho many thousand pack

bas ever died of colic when kept

C.N. Simpson, Jr.
Successor to C. E. HOUSTON.
I desire to call the attention of the people
of Monroe and Union county to the fact
that I have purchased the stock of drugs
of Mr. C. E. Houston and that I shall run
A Pirst-Class Drug Store
in every particular. Only the best drugs
that can be bought will be used in our
prescriptions, and only the most careful
and painstaking men will be employed.
I hope that all of Mr. Houston's custom
ers will continue with the business. They
shall be accorded the same fair, faithful
and generous treatment heretofore receiv
ed. All who have not heretofore patron
ized the store are cordially invited to come
around and try us. Respectfully,
O M CIMPQON .IP

It is the best investment a larnicr cm make. It will plant
your corn, fertilize it, and cover it at the same time. Take
out your pencil, figure the saving of fertilizer, add the expense
of planting the olJ way, and you will have your Drill almost
paid for at the end of the season.
The Empire
is decidedly the best on the market. No chain attachment;
no links to slip or break, and cause you trouble or inconveni
ence, but a POSITIVE FORCE FEED.
Ask those who have used it if it is not the best Planter told.
Take one home and try it; if you don't like it, we'll refund
your money. You need it now.
