How To Enter Contest.
Fill out the nomination blank for yourself
or friend and send same to The Carolina
Democrat Contest Manager and subscription
blanks, receipt books and necessary instruc
tions will be furnished.
Candidates may nominate themselves.
Each contestant is entitled to 5,000 cred
its, which will be issued on receipt of nomi
nation blank. Only one nomination blank
to be credited to each contestant.
It is not necessary to be a subscriber to
The Carolina Democrat to enter the contest.
It will cost you nothing to enter. When you
have entered you will become an enthusiast
and will thoroughly enjoy participating in
the contest. All that is necessary to do in
order to enter is to send in your name or get
some one to do it for you. (See nomination
blank). After entering visit your friends
and ask them to subscribe for The Carolina
Democrat and help you win a prize. '
Get your friends to work for you. It will
only require a few hours work each day.

Rules Governing Contest
Rule 1. All money for Subscriptions shall
be paid to Contest Manager.
Rule 2. Contest Manager's signature must
be affixed to all votes before they are of value
in the contest.
Rule 3. Ballots can not be bought. The
contest will be run on a square basis fair for
all. Votes can only be obtained by securing
subscriptions, or by cutting the nomination
coupons, or free voting certificates of each
weekly paper.
Rule 4. No employee of The Democrat or.
member of his family will be permitted to
participate either as a nominator or a voter
in the contest.
Rule 5. Candidates will not be restricted
in securing subscriptions, but may secure
them in any place in the United States.
Rule G. Only one Nominating Coupon en
titling each contestant to 5,000 votes will be
allowed.
Rule 7. All votes must be in The l emo
crat Office by Saturday, 6 p. m., of each
week, in order to be included in the next
count.
Rule 8. Votes once issued can not be
transferred to another contestant.
Rule 9. Xo votes will be allowed on sub
scriptions held out more than one week after
being secured by contestant. Subscriptions
must be turned in promptly together with
money collected for them. Votes will be is
sued when subscriptions are received, but
contestants may retain these votes and cast
them when they wish.
Rule 10. Nominators or Contestants in
The Democrat contest must agree to and ac
cept all rules and conditions.
Rule 11. The right is reserved to reject
the name of any contestant for cause, also to
alter these rules should occasion demand.
Hulo 12. Any question which shall arise
between the contestants, will be determined
by the Contest Management, and its decision
will be final.
