Go to the Union Drug' Company for Fine Toilet Articles, Creams, Face Lotions, Etc. They Have the Best. Phone 221. DDXT PUT IT UNDER A BUSHEL. If the articles you wish u airif? uo w jiotity a large space, this column is the place for them. Don't put Kiriif nnrW n liiiclipl twniisp it is a small one. Don't UUi vwvv v v - be, in advertising, like the one talent man was get weak kneed and crawl off because you can't make a big show. Small advertising pays as well as large advertising. Cut the suit to fit the cloth. For the benefit of our regular subscribers we are still inserting certain classes of advertising without charge. Any farmer subscriber may insert an ad of anything he wishes to buy or sell under this offer. Stock, poultry, eggs, farming implements, tools, corn, fodder or other produce comes under this head. The idea is that there are a great manv such articles as this that a farmer has to sell or buy occasionally, but which he would not feel justified in pay ing for. We wish to furnish an easy means of communi cation between our subscribers. Nothing, of course, is taken under this head where a man follows a line as a regular business. For instance, if a farmer has a cow to sell, or wants to buy one, for his own use, no charge would be made. But if a man is a regular cow dealer, he would have to pay. This same is true of a man who runs a regu lar seed business, or keeps stock for public service. Shoot in the ads and watch what they will do for you. Don't phone them in. A COUNTRY GIRL'S CREED. (By Flora Bullock.) I believe that the country is a better place for me to live than the city, because it is cleaner, quieter and more beau tiful. I believe that I can find no nobler work than to use all the knowledge and skill I can obtain to make my coun try home a place of happiness for my family and friends. I believe that the commnnity in which I live is a part of my home and that I should earnestly work with my neigh bors to bring more helpfulness and joy into the community life. I believe that God did not mean to shut me in a house, away from the free air and sunshine. I believe that all the blessings of the great outdoors are intended for me. I be lieve that for me, too, it is an ennobling privilege to work with Nature to care for the life-giving soil with my own hands, to sow the seed and help it grow. I believe that all my life I should plan to have some work that calls me every day into the open air. I believe in learning to enjoy good books, good music and good pictures. But most of all I believe in reading in Nature's unwritten books the wonderful stories of plants and animals; in listening to the music of birds and insects, of wind and rain; :n watching the. ever-c hanging pictures of earth and sky. For I believe that God has given all these things to make my country home beautiful and dear to me. HOW READERS CAN The Journal is proud of its family. There are those who have been subscribers to the paper almost from its first issue twenty-one years ago. There are others who have been reading it only a short time. Many of these often tell us how well they like the paper and what a service it is to them. We appreciate this very much. The ambition of the paper it to be of the greatest service to the people of Union county. Those of our readers who feel like doing so could be of very great help by speaking a good word for the paper to those in their neighborhood who have never taken it. There are some such, and when they begin to read the paper they will be surprised at the way they will "take to it." We believe that there is not in North Carolina a two- timps-n-wppk nnnpr nnvthinrr likp Tbp .Tmirnnl for n rlnllnr li:.,. take this paper, no matter what others he takes.
