at the home of Mrs. John L. Maffltt
when her youngest daughter. Miss Sa
rah Maffltt, became the bride of Jas.
A. Lockhart of Charlotte. The cere
mony was performed by Rev. A. M.
Blackford, rector of St. Paul's Epis
copal church. The bride was given
in marriage by her mother, Mrs. it
L. Moffttt. and was attended by her
two nieces. Miss Gladys Armstrong
as maid of honor, and little Miss Sara
Parker of Monroe, as bridesmaid, the
bridegroom having as his best man 1

The little bridesmaid was dressed In '
pink taffeta and her bouquet was

Mr. June Hitigler Dead.
Following a long illness of cancer
'of the stomach, Mr. A. A. Haipli'r,
l better known as June Haigler, died
Saturday at his home near Waxbaw.
Funeral services were held Sunday
afternoon, and the remains were in
terred with Masonic honors, members
of that fraternity In Monroe attend
ing. Deceased was a native of Mon
roe, a son of the lute Charles Haigler.
and was about 45 years of age. He
!is survived by his wife. Mr. Haigler
was an upright, conscientious man,
,a good workman, being a blacksmith
!by a trade, aud a loyal patriotic citi-izen.
