Miss Itena Herman, second eldest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Herman,
of Danville, Va., who was very prom
inent socially, committed suicide Sat
urday afternoon. Retiring to her
room she wrote a note to her father
and mother bidding them farewell,
and then, taking a small revolver,
sat on the edge of her bed and fired
one ball through her mouth. It lodg
ed In her brain. Her mother in a
room downstairs hearing the report
rushed up to her daughter's room
and found her lying across the bed
with blood flowing from her mouth.
She at once telephoned to Dr. Julian
Robinson, family physician, who has
tened to the house.. Miss Herman
breathed two or three times and then
died.
