The cloud and rain have' pass.ed over, sunshine, life and business now. Business ia good in Waxhaw. She has been in the front of the Cotton Market this season, and much ot tne staple and seed of this, section have been sold on the Waxhaw naprket. J. S. Plyler and son, Mr. Frptf Plyler, have been on a high tide in the Auto mobile trade. Mr. Henry Collins and son John W. Collins, and Nivefi Price Co.. have had shipped to this market several car loads of fine mules and the dry goods trade has been good. Mis3 Margaret Starnes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W M. "Starnes of the College Hill Community, vis-ted last evening at the home of her Un- cle and Aunt, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Nes bit of Waxhaw. Mr. and Mrs. H. Clark and chil dren, formerly residents of Waxhaw, now of Mount Holly visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Harris, Sunday and Monday of this week. Mrs. Clark is a niece of Mr. Harris, was reared in Waxhaw, one of the hest and most capable, and most es- - timable voune women. Mr. Clark ' was born and reared in the Union section, Route 4, of good stock, clever and efficient in business, and is as sociated with Mr. Henry Massey, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Massey of Wax haw. These vounz men. sons of Wax haw of whom she is proud, are in the hardware business in mount nob ly. Miss Geneva Walkup and Mr, Thomas Hudson, courteous and clever vounz Deonle of the R. J. Belk Co., made a business trip to Monroe Wed nesday. . Mesdames Olin Niven, J. L. Walk up, Edwin Niven, J. W. - McCahva'hd Mr. J. L. Walkup Jrr. all motorea to Lancaster Thursday. Some of these ' ladies visited daughters in Lancaster. Mrs. Luke Gamble is a daughter of Mrs. J. W. Walkup, and sister of Mrs. Olin Niven. Mrs. Carl Bennstt also of Lancaster, is a daughter of Mrs, J. W. McCain and a sister of Mrs. this congenial and happijy visiting group. ., Mrs. Metta Nesbit and children, Mr. Thos Nesbit, and daughter Miss Lynn and Mrs. A. L. Davis, one of the most aged and respected patrons of Route 4, father of Messrs. An drew, Clint and Lester Davis, and Mrs. E. H. Morris, all oi Koute 4, is sick and at the home of his son, Mr. Andrew Davis. .-. - M S. H.-Moser, father of Mr. H. TV Moser of Waxhaw, and one ot bu- ford township's most jccellent citi zens, is quite sick at the home here of his son. Mr. Moser is 63 year3 old. He is. blessed with the faithful nursing of his devoted wife. - The union meeting announced for last Sunday evening at the school auditorium, and which was ra ned out. will be held Sunday, the 18th. Mrs. McGuirt was a lov' ing and devoted wfe and mother, a' kind neighbor, and a christian lady. She leaves a husband, five daughters and two sons in sorrow, ine ex . pression of love and sorrow at the departure of this noble woman, ex pressed in flowers of variety and beauty was fitting and impressive.
