New York Evening Post. “Jim Crow” laws are to be tested in the United States supreme court. A white woman, having bought a berth in a Pullman sleeker fiom Vicksburg to New York, protested against ne groes being permitted to travel in the same car, and later sued the Alabama and Vici^sburg Railway company for damages. She obtained judgment against the railroad in the circuit court of Warren county. Miss., in the sum of $25,000. The case was appealed to the State supreme court, which held that the company was presumed, under the “Jim Crow” law. to rrovide separate accommodations for the races within the State of Mississippi, and affirmed the judgment of the lower court.
