Lazarus brothers' Spring opening Wednesday and yesterday was attend--d bv large crowds and the occasion was a success in everv wav. The tasteful arrangement of their large stork of goods, the decorations of pot-t-d plants and flowers preserited a scene that was beautiful to behold. If the managers of some of our pub lic institutions had as many spurs as Waters' rooster and as much grit in their craws as they ought to have and use those spurs as they .should be used there would be a general shaking of the dry bones of negroes and Republicans that are holding positions which young white men should have. Our young white men are going to have work it they have to leave North Carolina to get it, and why not keep them here If anybody goes let the negro go am joy go with him. Some people think thev cannot live without a negro to trot after them. What benefit is it to young inon to vote and work for Democratic success and then let the other parties get the bone.
