A wile and : mown children survive McCall entered his protest against the action of the court. The grand jury was drawn and Prof. W. K. Ahernethy was appointed foreman. A M. heck was appointed oilicer of the grand jury. Judge Stephens' charge to the grand jury proved his familiarity with the law and was delivered in such i manner as to make it plain to all. Judge Stephens is kind and courteous to all, but lino in his rulings, and though young in years he presides with the dignity and ability of an older head. Quite a number of the usual cases for the less serious offences have been disposed of The more important ones were : Tom Moses, stealing L. M. Scott's mare ; guilty ; five years in penitentiary. William Flax, f. and a. ; guilty ; three months on chain. Robert Lefevers, disturbing religious worship ; not guilty. Beauregard Mangi um, same offence; same verdict. Enzor O'Neal, forcible trespass on lands of Mrs. M. E. Thornton ; not guilty. Thus ends a suit that has been pending for several years. Tom Canipe, abandonment of wife; guilty; discharged upon giving bond for costs and the support of his wife. John Tate Epley, incest with his nice ; not guilty. Dolph Twittv, charged with the bur glary of the house of W. J. Gibbs, in Moranton last winter, at the hour set for trial, yesterday evening at 3 o'clock, came into court and plead guilty of burglary in the second degree, where upon he was sentenced to 15 years in the penitentiary. We learn the judne has since expressed his intention of changing the sentence to a shoiter term. A venire of 50 men had been summoned from which to select a jury in Twitty's case. A nol pros vas entered in the case of the Southern Railway for issuing free passes. There will probably be an appeal in this cae Everything is easy except the firms that try to buck against us in prices. They will get lifted out of their boots, and don't you forget it. You might as well give up the belt, brother. We will take it if profit sacrificing will give it to us. The merchants can get angry if they want to, but they will never get us in the ring to keep up prices. Let all follow us who can, aud what can't, get out of the ring. Every price that we have ever made stands now, and w keep putting in cut prices every day. Did you see that great M Camki Away in the Bloom of Y OL'N'i W UM A N 1 1 OO I . Mrs. C P.
