THAT'S THE STUFF YOU HEAR WHEN YOU CREDIT. You have heard so much talk about our selling jroods so cheap, and so many merchants that buy on time and sell on time tell you that we are losing money, that some of our friends feel alarmed about us, and our enemies have only been awaiting with anxious expectancy for our collapse. But alas! alas! we are still in the old fort, built bv an experienced architect, walled in with silver dollars, that makes it proof against any paper day-book and ledger wads that can be hurled against it. We have paid back to our customers in the last 4 months about $400.00 by our 5 per cent, rebate system. This amount jdven back by our check system eclipses anything that has ever been done in North Carolina by any merchant for the benefit of his customers. We not only sell you jroods cheaper than any other mer chant but after you have spent your money with us we pay you back 5 per cent, on every S5.00 worth you buy. No wonder the people are astonished, amazed and dum f mnded. But stop! Did you ever think how it is that a bank can make money by loaning money at o and 8 per cent. Vet it is a fact that they do it. The reason for this is simple enough thev loan you their cash and you pay back cash; you jrive the best security and they loose nothing. Now we run our business on the same principle that a bank does. We work on short margins, it's true, but when we make a sale we've rot the cash. We take that cash and buy ajrain and run on from day to day and week to week and never lose a dollar. We make a penny here and a nickle there and it's the arrrer'ite that we count on not the one sale, for we expect to make more. No doubt some of you have had bills presented to you in the last few days. Of course you sat down and drew a check and paid it. If you didn't you aurht to have done it, for the merchant expected his money. Your bill was $20.00, $30.00 or possibly $50.00, or more. Don't vou know it's easier to pay 50 cents to-day and $1.00 to-morrow, &c, and at the end of the month you don't owe anv man anything; you have bought floods cheaper; you have saved 5 per cent, extra if you trade with us, and what's V - a result of theextra pre- Tuesday the evidence was so j more, you have had nobody to dinrdonr for his bill, and you ioiw taken, the disease ! conflicting that Sandv was re-jnave rd your bundles wrapped in a red paper and tied with - -o,,n .-otten under control I manded to jail to await an m-i j strnr amj sent to vour home and you should be happv. : '.Mil ere lonir be complete- j vestijraiion ai m- '"'.jf you are not t's from some other source that your trouble Xo new cases ...i.i f li, w.. ; t hMr1 is 1 ' .. c:...,.!,- Vi. r. lin-t- t'iv :k vm trt nml rn whtTe mnncv bllVs most If you do this we will see you soon at the Red Bundle Store.
