The) i remain here until after ' -v August election. Mr. J. N. Bohannon Dead. Mr. J. N. Bohannon, of Hickory, died at a hospital in Charlotte Wednesday evening, of Bright's disease. Mr. Bo hannon was well known in Morganton and had many friends here who will mourn his death. For some years he has been traveling for the Odell Manufacturing Com pany, of Concord, and for a Nashville firm. He was 47 years of age and was twice married. His first wife was Miss Fannie Forney, daugh ter of the late Bergner For ney, of Burke. By this union there was one child, a son, who is grown. The second wife wis Miss Gulledge, of Wadesboro, who survives him. By this marriage there is one child, a son also. The re mains were taken to Hickorv yesterday for interment. Will Happoldt, Lewis John son and Morris Jones, voung 'Amendments," were before the Mayor yesterday charged with disturbing the delibera tions of the "Literarv," a colored society by this name, Tuesday nirht. Thev were found guilty and fined S7 each.
