Avery, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. B. S. (i ait her. STOCK ASSOCIATION ORGANIZED. The County Fast Getting Out of Debt. At the meeting of the Board of County Commissioners on the 5th inst. the Lesh note on the county, amounting to three thousand and twenty-five dol lars, was paid in full. This leaves the county's indebtness amounting to only $5,000. This is a fine showing for the present board, and especially when it is considered that the taxes for this vear were re duced about $2800. Special Term of Burke Superior Court The members of the Mor ganton bar have petitioned the (iovernor to order a special term of BurkeSuperior Court to be held during next Janu ary, and as Judge W. B. Counciil presided so accept ably during the recsnt session f our Superior Court, the petition asks that he be com missioned to hold the special term. Licensed to Wed. There was a meeting at the Court House yesterday of citi -zens interested in live stock in this section. The object of the meeting was to form a stock associa tion. C. M. McDowell was made chairman and Walter Forney secretary. J. C. Horton. of Watauga county, was present and talked ably and interestingly on quar antine lines and other matters.
