The spending ot fifteen thousand dollars for labor in putting in water works at Mount Airy this year, would revive bn-iness and help all our ctiZi iis. We think everybody favors better times and would be glad t S' e plenty of money in cir culation, and there is every reason to believe that vcrv nearly every dollar of the fifteen thousand would go into the pockets ot the labeling classes. This, then, is an enterprise ihe laboring people should led an interest m ami support to a man. The water works will not bo worth anything to us individually, as we have no property on any of the streets upon which the mains are to be laid, but wo favor the project because it will ht Ip Mount Airy and every citiz.-n in tiie place. We do earnestly hope that every voter will lay aside his prejudices long enough this time to vote intelligently and for the leot interchts of the town in which he makes his living. Remem ber that an entirely new registra tion is r quired, and that you can not vote unless your name appears on the books. Thanks to Mr. R. II.
