The city water department hopes

building a 20-foot dam across the

ruad and will repreaent an outlay of
about 14,000.

Dr. R. E. L. Flippin. of Pilot Moun
tain, well known physician of this
county, ts very sick and confined to
hia room. He was in hia usual
health and attended the picnic of the
farmers at Pilot Mountain on Satur
day, July SS. Late that afternoon he
was taken suddenly 91 with acute
bright* disease and his condition ia
considered critical. Dr. Boh, besides
being a popular physician, has taken
a great interest in tha cooperative
movement and was always found at
tending the meetings of the farmers
and he has a large circle of friends
who will regret to loam of hia tttneea.

reaching Martin Memorial hospital
as the mult of a fractured skull
