vetch and rye. Altho early ia tha
season the vetch ia wall inoculated
and ia making a good growth for
fall. We aecurod very good results
from the uae of lime with soy beana.
Starting with 4 eighth of an acre

two plot* without lime. Two hun

evenly to the pint*. All were plant

limed and one online I plot wa* cut

The following ia the rsauits from
»oate of the different plots: On A.
K. Scott's plot turned off on an acre
haai*, unlimed 6,040 pound* against
6,000 where lime was used. A. E.
Holder'* plot unlimed 4,464 pounds
ngainst 1,644 where lime wa* used.
D. Y. Marion'* plot unlimed >,071!
pound* against 3.M4 where lime was
uaed. This clearly ahows that lima;
is a pfat help in incresMng the yield
of hay. Considering that tha lime
wm not put on until May, than fol- .

consider our remit* a* being vary
good. Lime in a alow acting material
and if it had been placed on the soil
early in tha spring ae H could hare
bean well incorporated in tha soil then
doubtleaa we would have secured a I
much haariar yield. Conaiderlng that
Hate can be bought in Mount Airy at

can be added profitably to the soB.
