This should help to relieve a shortage of milk cow* and work stock in the county. Again quoting from State College: Outlook for Sweet Potatoes in 1MV. "N. C. farmer* art advised to pro ceed cautiously la planting sweat po tatoes thin year. There Is evidence that the supply of sweat potatoes fei 1927 will he more than needed to supply the demand at satisfactory price*. The chief reason for this forecast i* the sweet potatoes will ha substituted for cotton in many sec tions of the South. The tendency will be to produce mors sweat pota toes than can he consumed locally. Farmers should net anticipate soil ing surplus sweet potatoes at a satisfactory price. it recommended that under the condition* existing in molt parts of the Sooth this year, that the airwft should be limited to those grower* who Mod to supply for their own use, and to those who can dispose cm their local markets at satisfactory prices. In individual caste it My be advisable to produce mors than is required for home or local use, if the growers are willing to soil their crops at relative low pricts. In plan ning this year's acreage farmer* should not forget the low returns which they received from sweet po tatoes in 1916 and 1M1, and when the acreage was increased, due to low returns from previ.-ms crops. Southern producers of sweet po tatoes should not anticipate a strong Northern market for their products. The large acreage in IMt along the Atlantic Coast from Virginia to New Jersey was accompanied by a large yield per acre with the result that I'm prices were secured last year in three areas. This will no doubt bring about a re-adjustment to lower acre ages but probably not suflcient to establish a good market for South em sweet potatoes." Netfee. TV* THOUSANDTH Here at our drug store accuracy means being sure to the thousandth. There is no guessing with life as a stake. THINK HOW MUCH THAT MEANS TO YOU Mount Airy Drug Company (A Liberal Financing Plan of Southern Public Utilities Company To Be Withdrawn The libera] financing plan which we have been offering to customers and prospective customers on our lines will extend through March 21st It will be withdrawn at the close of Dusiness on that day. Under this offer more than 200 families in Mount Airy and its suburbs who have not heretofore enjoy ed the advantages and comforts of electric service have been enabled to wire their homes and are to day enjoying this service. The plan itself is very simple. The owner of the home selects the electri cal contractor whom he desires to do his work. The contractor makes an estimate of the cost of the wir ing and submits his bid. This bid must be accented by the home owner and approved by our manager. The work is done and the Southern Public Utilities Company advances the amount of the contract so that the contractor gets his money immediately and the customer gets the advantage of a cash price The cost of the installation is then divided into 12 parts and one-twelfth is repaid to the utilities com pany each month by the customer along with the electric light bill. There are quite a number of families on existing lines in Mount Airy still who are using disagreeable, dangerous and inefficient oil lamps and are depriv ing themselves not only of electric light but of the other incidentals of electric service. Electric ser vice is more than mere electric light Many customers would prefer to do without electric light even than to be deprived of the comfort and satis faction that comes through the use of electric irons and other electrical appliances. For the benefit of those who have not yet had their homes wired and who desire to give their wives and families the advantages of elertric service we an holding our house-wiring offer open until Monday, March 21st Several days are required to secure estimates and make contracts. We would therefore urge those who are interested to act immediatelv in order that all steps necessary may be taken before this offer is withdrawn.
