Herman, the Health an Social Service Committee met, to plai a drive in town for the collection « old clothe* for the needy, which wen to be distributed thro the Health Da partment. Said clothing wax collect ed In abundance on November 3rd and carried to the county healtl office. On November 10th, a Health an< Civic Committee meeting waa held a the home of the Chairman of Healtl to plan the program for the Decern her general meeting. It waa decidei that the Boy Scouts be asked to giv> a demonstration in flrst aid. Oi December Srd at the general meetini the Boy Scouts gave a demonstrs tion in first aid, which consisted o the health part of the program. During the week proceeding Christ mas the Health Department of tb Woman's Club took charge of sellini the tubercular seals at the Pos Office, realising eighty-eight dollar and thirty cents ($88.80) from th seals. We have also secured through the > efforts of Mrs. Boat, official secretary i of the N. C. Federation Clubs, and r Mrs. Mower, formerly Miss Myrtle II Folger, the official list of ex-serviee j ( men from Surry. There are 911 i names listed and in order to correct any possible error we plan to publish 11 the list some time during the sun I mer. By the beginning of the next ' club year we hope to have a nicely l lettered copy of the list to hang in the Community Building.
