The Orders for tbe shipment of guns and ammunition from tbe state arsenal here to London, Ky by the Republican state authorities was revoked this alter noon and a car loaded with munitions of war, consigned to London, was unloaded and its contents returned to the arsenal in this city. The. state officials give no reason for the change of program. .The soldiers worked all forenoon loading the cars. There is a report that the war department at Washington interfered. THE BATTLE AT DORDRECHT. Boers Retreat Precipitately Carry ing Off Their Guns. . Dordrecht, March 5. -Following yes- gaged the Boers today .with ad vantage. holding tbe position captured yesterday. There was some smart fighting' this morning, tbe British losing live or six men, capturing the Boer fort and thus vastly improving their position. The Boers fought tenaciously .contestingevery nch of the ground, but .ultimately they retreated suddenly, carrying off their guns and wagons. A mounted force pursued them but the result is not yet known. The British casualties during the two days were twelve or thirteen killed and thirty wounded. The Boer osses are unknown.
