Mr. Marks left several weeks ago ostenst ' bly to buy goods and visit his father and mother, but while there he fell a victim to the charms of Miss Rosa Greenberg, and the result was that they were married last Sunday in Baltimore. Oettioger left last night for Petersburg, Va.. to look over the mill property recently purchased by a company of Kinston capitalists of which they . are stockholders. A formal transfer of the property was made by ' Mr. J. F. Taylor to the Chesterfield Manufacturing company yesterday, he having bad the original transfer of the Swift Creek property made to him, prior to the Incorporation of the Chesterfield Manufacturing co. There are 400 of these new boxes and a number of drawers t also. The arrangement of the Interior of the new office is very convenient and showsoff to advantage. The devices for the general delivery window to keep the crowd away is a very Important and convenient ar rangement, only allowing one or two persons at the window at the same time. ' ' Prof. W. H. Hammond has moved Bis school from the old school build ing to the one that was formerly oc cupied by Prof. Rhodes. The rural carriers regret to see Free Press days come on account of its large circulation. It has a larger cir culation than any other paper coming to wis orace. The Trenton cornet band was or ganized a few weeks ago with A. H. Coble aa leader.-. The band is doing very well, it they could only secure a teacher, but It seems impossible now. Dr. H. G. Monk has had his office and a store belonging to him newly painted. On Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Williams, on . east Caswell St., Mr. Will P, Hardy and Miss Hancv Williams were married. The bride entered the parlor with Mr. Harvey Williams, the groom with his sister, miss settle uar 'y, Missmaonie Mewborne with Mr. Stephen Hardy, and Miss Sallle Walters with Mr. Leon Aldridge, The bride and groom then came forward and Kev. jl. H. pe- tree united them in the holy bonds- of wedlock. Miss Williams' friends are numbered by her acquaintances, for she is liked by all for her amiable traits of character.
