James Dove, an old colored citizen of this city, died this morning at his home in. smith Kinston and will be buried tomorrow at Woodington, from which place he moved to this town years ago. He was 51) years of age. Dr. and Mrs. A. It. Miller returned tbis morning from a three-months' tour in which they visited the north, north west and west, returning through the southern states. The doctor looks well from his trip and says he enjoyed it very much. It is reported that another of the circus men died on the train last night on the way to Goldaboro as a result of a cutting here yesterday. The affair la unknown to the police and is doubted here. No confirmation of the report could be had. Caswell chapter, No. 38, Royal Arch Masons will meet In the Masonic hall . at 7:30 o'clock Monday evening, Oct 12th, at which time petitions for mem bershlD . will, be bal lotted upon.
