Circumstances, 1 which we haven't been able to regulate, have caused the delay. We : hope to have things' running on schedule time in a , fey; days and our patrons will then be served in the afternoon as heretofore. While The Free Press does not want to appear antago nistic to the : proposition, which comes fro mthe' neigh boring town voi Snow .Hill, in which electric current is sought from the 'Kinston plant, it feels that it is its duty ,tp call atention to the necessity f o rproviding an adequate supply for home needs, before contracts for supplying1 other ; towns or communities are made. Kln ston has just approved a bond issue, the proceeds of which are to be spent for necessary municipal im provements, including the enlargement of the; electric light plant. By a resolution of -the city council prior to the election, it was decided to give "thf sewerage. exten sion in East Kinston first caU, the electric light plant second and lastly the. pav ing of .streets. It is, of course, possible that Snow Hill can be accommodated without ' depriving Kinston or mak ing it necessary to spend more money on the plant htan would otherwise be pent. If this . be so and an equitable , arrangement can be made,' it would seem wise to furnish the current but; the contract should be made so that Kinston could cease to supply the current ttter giving a reasonable no tice in the ; event . her own needs should come to surfer by virtue of the supply else where.":-:; ' : .. ; A Real Leader. ! r,t (News Leader.) .
