Kitsy Cartrett, who is over 98 years of age, and Florence Cartrett, aged 57 years, pleaded guilty to selling wine. They were required to pay the costs. F. M. Creech, a blind white man, pleaded guilty to manslaughter. He shot John W. Allen, a negro, while Allen was killing a snake near the Creech home. There was evidently r.o criminal intent. After an eloquent plea for mercy by counsel, Judge Al len gave Creech the light sentence of four months.
