night. Traffic has been of necessity
stopped and Colonel Goethals could
not say today when the canal again
would be navigable. It is expected
that a few days will prove sufficient

New Remedy That Heals Eciema
Quickly.
J. E. Hood & Co. sold hundreds of
jars of Hokara, and although they of
fered to refund the purchase price
to any dissatisfied purchaser, not one
jar has been returned.
While this is surprising in itself,
yet the most marvelous thing is the
reports of" chronic cases of eczema
that ave been cured by this simple
skin food. People Vo have suffered
with - scales, scabs and even bleed
ing itching, have found relief in Ho
kara. No matter where the eczema, pim-
pies or otner breaking out occurs,
whether on the face, hands, legs or
body, the application of Hokara
should give quick relief, and even the
worst or most chronic cases should
be cured in a short time.
You can buy a liberal-sized jar to
day at the very low price of 25c, and
with every package goes J. E. Hood
& Co.'s guarantee to refund the mon
ey if it is not satisfactory. adv.

We will buy a pound of Cotton for
every pound of Tobacco we sell
We realize, with all the residents of. the South,
the present financial .stringency due to the cotton
situation. We realize that the South must sell its
cotton, and ve will help in the most practical way
we know by buying cotton.
f For every pound purchased of all of these famous, popular brands of
tobacco and cigarettes (counting 1,000 cigarettes equal to five pounds
of tobacco) we will buy from our dealers a pound of cotton at 10c, in
accordance with our circular to dealers dated Sept. 28.
We have faith in cotton. We know that when the war clouds
roll away, the demand of the manufacturers for cotton throughout the
world will be greater than ever before, and the South will enjoy unpre
cedented prosperity.
