Many relatives of Mr. A. G. Tyn
dall celebrated that well-known man's
75th birthday with him at the country
home of Mr. P. S. Tyndall, a son, near
Pink Hill, on a recent day. Mr. Tyn
dall has been married fifty years, and
Mrs. Tyndall, aged 69, was seated
with him when their kinsmen called
to pay the highly respected old people
homage. There are eight children
living, these being: Mr. S. S. Tyn
dall, Kinston; Mrs. Robert Turner,
Mrs. S. J. Kornegay, Messyt. A. E.
Tyndall, L. P. Tyndall and P. S. Tyn
dall, Pink Hill, and vicinity; Mr. El
bert Tyndall, Deep Run, and Mr. J.
I. Tyndall, Goldsboro. Most of forty-four
grandchildren and four great
grandchildren were in the assemblage.
A typical country dinner was served.
Mr. T. W. Miller of Edenton was in
the city yesterday.

man, though he served in a Scottish
regiment in the British army, was
here today, and a most interesting
visitor he was. Mr. Howlington has
been in India and other parts of the
empire with H. M. forces, serving a
private, lance corporal and sergeant
in a company of Kilties.
