Russ. 8 H H Dupree Hart, - The following announcement was received in the city this morning: "Mr. Horace D. Dupree Miss Mabel Catherine Hart Married on Wednesday, December Sixteenth Nineteen hundred and fourteen Greensboro, North Carolina." "At Home After December twen ty-third, Kinston, N. C." Today's Greensboro News said of the wedding: "The performance of a double wedding was the unusual event occurring last evening at 9 o'clock at the homeof Dr. Melton Clark, pas tor of the First Presbyterian church, Two couples met there at this hour, neither of the two being acquainted with the other prior thereto. "T. Richard Brown of Ashland, Pa., now living in Charlotte, and Miss Juanita Tankersley of Washington, D. C, were one couple of the happy ceremony, and Horace D. Dupree of Lenoir county, and Miss Mabel C. Hart of Rock Hill, S. C, were the other. The respective brides and grooms came to Greensboro to meet each other. Dr. Clark adopted a most ingenuous plan in tying this double knot; For the one couple the cere mony was performed up to the point of obligation, and then the same was done for the other couple. The two couples were forthwith pronounced man and wife in the same words, and the prayer following was for both. To complete the unique experience, Mr. and Mrs. Brown signed the Du pree certificate and Mr. and Mrs. Du pree signed the Brown certificate, the others present also signing. The newly married couples left the city on trains due to leave within five min utes of each other, and took opposite directions, Mr. and Mrs. Brown go ing to Winston-Salem at 10:20 o' clock and Mr. and Mrs. Dupree going to Richmond at 10:15 o'clock."
