A lonza Thomas, one of Beaufort's best-known citizens and known to muny Kinston people, died there on Thursday evening, according-to a re port received today. The funeral was conducted Friday afternoon. TRYING TO ARRANGE FOR PULLMAN TO RICHMOND. An effort is being made to charter a Pullman car from Kinston to Rich mond on Wednesday night on account of the Thanksgiving football game in Richmond, to return Friday morning. NEGRES SWHO WORKED FRAUD GAME TO ROADS The Recorder Friday sentenced Jes sit May Jones, colored, to 12 months on the county roads, where she will serve as a cook, for securing money from North Kinston housewives thrcugh fraud. Her method was to apply at a home and, pretending to be in the employ of a neighbor, ask for the loan of money for her alleged mistress. The plan worked well. W. J. BLALOCK AT NEW BERN. Mrs. W. J. Blalock, wife of a prom inent New Bern man, died in Wilson lato Thursday. She had been in a hospital in the latter pluce.
