This terse message, variously ac credited to every great naval com mander from John Paul Jones to George Dewey, finds a not unim portant place in the scheihe of in doctrination of U. S. marines at their training camps. That a U. S. marine must never fail in anything he undertakes, that discipline health, and courage are indispensable to his. success as a Ma rine, and that the "advance always, and never surrender," idea be upper most in his mind, night and day, are a few of the things in the creed of Uncle Sam's soldiers of the navy.
