Funeral of Albert Thigpen. The funeral and burial of Mr. Al bert Thigpen took place in Maple. wood Cemetery Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. W. M. I Extraordinary Values Mrs. James W. Daly died at 8:30 o'clock Tuesday morning. She was ill but a short time, and not many of her friends and acquaintances had learned of her sickness. Mrs. Daly before marriage was Miss Eliaa A. Kennedy, the last sur viving member of the family of Walter Kennedy and Elizabeth Hodg ?s Kennedy. She was born February 15, 1848, and was a little over years of age. In 18l6 she married Mr. Daly, and lacked onry four days if spending 52 years of married life They had six children 'Willie, Al bert, Edgar, James, Susie and Hattie, The four boys preceded their mother to the grave. The last one was drowned in Neuse River some years ag.i. The family now consists of Mr Daly, Well-known in the city, and th Jaughters, Misses Susie and Hattie Daly. Mrs. Daly was a woman of 3xcellent Christian character. The funeral will be held at the res idence on Capitola Avenue Wsdnes day at 8 o'clock. It will be con ducted by Rev. Bernard P. Smith pastor off Gordon Street Christian Church',. Burial will take place the Daly private cemetery on Hull Road. NURSES OPEN THEIR MEETING THIS P. H. The annual convention of the State Nurses' Association will be opened at the First Baptist Church this even ing. Delegates will begin to come in in large numbers this afternoon Practically every important town in the State will be represented in spite of the war's drain upon the ranks of the profession. The attendance will reach the high mark at Wednesday's sessions. The meeting will last through Friday forenoon. Tonight Mayor Sutton and Dr. Ira M. Hardy will welcome the visitors to the city, officers of the association will re spond, and Dr. James M. Parrott, Kinston, a former president of the State Medical Society, will deliver an address. ., Rev. John H. G I Ffith, Episcopal clergyman, and Rev. W. Mi Craig, Baptist, and musical talent of the city will be on the program. An informal reception will follow the opening exercises.
