Mines Kiyining Might and Day to Meet the Demand for Coal. New York P ess. That June will be one of the biggest months in history, so far as coal min ing and shipping are concerned, is a statement made here this evening by certain large coal shippers, who total ed their books tonight, with but one day more to go. The opening of the late trade, about June 15th, is what has made business so great in the mines. Many shippers are now running their mines night and day, and there are orders in for LIKE A SWEEP IX PANAMA. All Returng in Are Against the Presi dent's Candidate. By Wire to The Sun. Panama, July 1. " An idea of the returning prosperity and of the extent of the coal business in June can be had from figures on the Ohio river connecting bridge for the month, ending tomorrow. This Bridge carries all coal intended for the lakes and the West across the Ohio river here. When the financial trou bles came business dropped to 10 per cent of its former size on this bridge. In June, however, there was a great rush, and figures will show'that busi ness returned to within 13 1-2 per cent of normal in less than a month's time. ! The Baltimore and Ohio and the Pennsylvania Railroad will, also show a great increase In business when their books close tomorrow night for June. It was estimated at the close of busi ness today that busines for June would be within 20 per cent of the June busi ness of last year, which was the big gest of last year, whlchshrdlutaoln gest June in history. This shows;, that "the June business was better thin the average month of any year, save 1907, when every known record was shattered. An official of a big railroad In Pittsburg said this af ternoon that had the roads ten years ago had as much business as they are handling this June they would have been unable to handle It at all. Orders were given here today to dis tribute 10,000 tons of rock ballast on one division on the lines west of Pitts burg. This had been intended for months, but road improvements were held up because of the stringency of money. , -t Juice the Miter Itsatfoodsidn whenyousec It represents maximum value atmiRimumcost Goes farthest! w fcr Safety CUTLER.BLADES HARDWARE CO.
