Frank Iiobbins has been trapped. He is the man that stole .$.'100 in cash and some notes from Joseph Craig last Saturday night, 'assisted as he confesses by Charley Ward, i you g man who works on Craijj's ! farm. . The money was in a little bu reau drawer. Robbins saw it when Craig paid him Saturday ovemiv for his week's work. While- Crai" and family were at supper Itob- bins (and, he says, Ward) man aged to unlock the drawer, and es caped w ith it and its contents. When Craig went to retire the robbery was discovered, and Rob bins was suspicioned. Craig came to Marion that night and procured i warrant from Judge Nichols. This was placed in the hands of Oflicer Jim Finly and a fruitless search was made for the money. Craig, how-aver, being convinced that Robbins was guilty, went to his home to-night (Thursday), which is a lor cabin on the Little Mountain, eight or nine miles north of Marion, and about two miles from Craig's, accompanied by his brothel's, John and Dug Craig, and George Lintz. When the house was reached, just after lark. Dug went inside the house and askid Robbins to come out saying that he wanted to see him privately. lie consented, and ho btepped out into the darkness, he walked into the arms of his cap tives, lie realized that he had stepped into a trap, and then a a fierce and perhaps fatal struggle ensued. He had an open knife con cealed, which he began to use with tellh.g effect. John 'Jraig was stabbed bv Rob bins to the hollow, near his heart, and seriously if not fatally injured, lie also tried to cut Joe Craig's throat, cutting through his shirt, vest :ind c at.
