A British Mesopotamian force, composed of troops transferred from the Dardanelles, were re pulsed by Turkish troops in a san guinary battle lasting six hours near Felahie, according to a Turk ish headquarters report, dated April 11. The statement adds that more than 3,000 dead British were counted after the battle. Your Boy. This is a good time to, think of your boy. If you do*not look af ter him in the right way, someone will do it in the wrong way. Be gin now! Teach your boy to follow in the footsteps of his father, to respect the law, to obey his parents, to re gard the rights of all men, to honor virtue, to respect womanhood, and to depend upon no one but him self for advancement. Teach him that the Golden Rule of life will be found in the Ten Commandments. They are short. They have survived the ages. They stand today unchanged and unchallenged. They comprise the first great written law given by God to man. Before these few commandments all man-made laws fade into insig nificance. Teach them to your boy. There is danger ahead if you do not. The boys of today are to be the men of tomorrow. The destinies of the American people are to be in the hands of their sons. If the boys are taught respect for the law, both human and divine, obedi ence to authority, manly independ ence and the fear of God, this great nation will be a noble monument to man’s capacity for self-govern ment and self-control at a time when all the world is a seething cauldron of unrest, oinreason and disbelief. Teach your boy to rule, but first to rule himself.—John A. Sleicher, in Leslie’s. Catarrhal Deafness Cannot be Cured by local applications, as they cannot reach the diseased portion of the ear. There is only one way to cure catarrhal deafness, and that is by a constitutional remedy. Catarrhal Deafness is caused by an inflamed condition of the mucous lining of the Eustachian Tube. When this tube is inflamed you have a rum bling sound or imperfect hearing, and when it is entirely closed. Deafness the result. Unless the inflammation can be reduced and this tube restored to its normal condition, hearing will be de stroyed forever. Many cases of deaf ness are caused by catarrh, which is an inflamed condition of the mucous sur faces. Hall's Catarrh Cure acts thru the blood on the mucous surfaces of the system. We will give One Hundred Dollars for any case of Catarrhal Deafness that can not be cured by Hall’s Catarrh Cure Circulars free. All Druggists, 75c. P. J. Cheney & Co., Toledo, O. Beaux Monde, (Under new management.) S. C. Roberts, Mgr. Eagle BIdg. Main St Felt Like One of Them. ‘Tuther day,” related old Dad Bing, the Oklahoma cattle baron, who is temporarily in our midst, according to The New York Times, 1 was rumbling along*in a street car, when a batch of young fellers got aboard. I judged they were college students by their funny clothes and queer-shaped heads. The car was pretty full, and they pushed and snorted back and forth in the aisle, tramping on people’s feet and committing similar frivo lities that-a-way. Bimeby they all r’ared back and fetched loose a long yell. Then the nearest one to me took a look, and not admir ing my face or something, says: Well, my rural friend, don’t you like it?’ ‘Shore, I like it!’ says I. ‘I’m }alf-witted myself.’ ” Special Club Offer.
