The Marauders received several of the so-called "breaks" of the game, but failed to capitalize on them. During the game two Aggie twirlers issued 14 free bases on balls and on two occasions filled the bas es, but Skipper Johnny Lanning's cohorts could not hit in the pinches. Despite the fact that the visiting moundsmen were wild in getting the ball across home plate the Maraud er batsmen were held to four bing les. * Big Red Reddick started the game for the local outfit and traveled through the sixth when Lanning called on Presnell to finish the game The combined offerings of the Ma rion pitchers were touched for four teen hits and the game. Extra base hits were few during the game. Marion received none. The visiting players claimed four; Roberts and Sullivan each had one, and Bowles had two.
