Sooial News Mrs. Clyde Cannon, Editor Phone 434-M Miss Flack Honored At Morrow Home Mrs. Roy Morrow and Mrs. C. W. Morgan were hostesses last Thurs day evening at the Morrow home on South Main Street with a bridal shower and party, honoring Mrs. Morrow's sister, Miss Betty Jo Flark of East Marion, whose marri age to Allie Lee Steppe, of Old Fort, will be an event of December. The home was charming with ar rangements of white snapdragons and pink carnations to carry out a color scheme of pink, white and green. The guests enjoyed cleverly plan ned games and contests and a num ber of prizes were awarded the con testants. The games of "dress the bride," and a treasure hunt were especially appropriate for the paity. At the end of the treasure hunt Miss Flack received as \ her most precious "treasure" an array of very lovely and useful gifts from the guests. Refreshments, served b'uffet style, consisted of ice cream molds in shapes of bells, hearts, wedding slippers, rings, and love birds, cup cakes, iced in pink, green and white, a variety of tiny sandwiches, nuts, and Russian tea. Approximately 25 guests from Marion, East Marion and Old Fort enjoyed this delightful party. n Mrs. Neal Entertains With Bridge Party Mrs. J. E. Neal, Jr., was hostess to members of her bridge club and visitors last Friday evening when she entertained with a dessert bridge party at her home in the Henderson apartments. Potted plants and greenery de corated the living room where a delicious .sweet course was served before the bridge games began. Mrs. Sam Yancey won high score prize when scores were tallied and Mrs. Frank Goldsmith was winner of second high. Club members playing were: I Mrs. Sam Yancey, Mrs. Goldsmith, Mrs. Carter Hudgins, Mrs. George Rowe, Mrs. David Blanton and Mrs. Glenn Morris. Visitors were Mrs. J. M. Dessert Bridge Given At "Gladden Home A delightful party was given last Thursday evening when Mrs. Wil liam Gladden, Sr., was hostess with a dessert bridge at her home on j Cresent Drive. A colorful array of fall flowers! were used to decorate for the'par-1 ty, forming a charming back- j ground for individual tables set up j and appointed for the serving of, ice cream, molded to form turk- j eys and pumpkins, fruit cake and coffee, upon arrival of the guests. Following the dessert course two ' tables of bridge were in play and; when scores were tallied Mrs. Rob ert Landis was winner of the high i score prize. Miss Betty Jo Flack To Wed A. L. Steppe j Mrs. T. M. Flack, of East Mar ion, has announced the engage-1 ment of her daughter Miss Betty1 Jo Flack, of East Marion to Allie Lee Steppe, of Old Fort. The bride elect is the daughter of Mrs. Flack and the late T. M. Flack of East Marion and Steppe is the son of Mrs. Maud Steppe of Old Fort. The wedding will be an event of December. Club To Meet ( A business meeting will be held by Marion Junior Womans club Tuesday evening, November 29 in the club room of the community building at 8:00 o'clock. Mrs. P. T.
