We hope that none of the strangers now visiting us will fail to go to Whiteside by the newer and shorter road, whiich has lately been much improved. The views near this road are notably tine ; that froth W lid Cat Kidge, a spur which sweeps with a magnincent curve away from the great mountain, in a westerly and then souther ly direction, is one of the most beautiful in this country of beautiful views. At your feet lies a part of Whiteside Cove, sheltered apparently from every wind that can blow ; then there approach each other before you, one on either hand, the grand elm of Whiteside and the massive bulk of Black Kock, and between them you look over cove and valley, and from peak to peak of mountains, near and then far, until you lose an in the' deep blue haze that forever enwraps the distance. Far less wide-reaching than the pros pect awfatimif- you from the top of White side, this view from Wild Cat Ridge is infinitely mote picturesque afad beauti- mi, ana wnue it is witmn uttie more than an hour's ride from Highlands, it would be well worth a long pilgrimage to see.
