A few cottages in Pinehurst remain unrented. They are comfortably furnished throughout with everything necessary
for housekeeping, except bed and table linen, which may also be obtained at a small extra charge. Desirable parties, giving
satisfactory references, can secure these attractive winter homes at reasonable rental.
There are also Suites for Light Housekeeping and Single Rooms for those who obtain table board at the
Pinehurst Casino.
For the security of both invalids and pleasure seekers, cases of pronounced consumption will under no circumstances

PINEHURST is a Unique Town in the SOuTHliflflD
Apparently a Yankee village
dropped down in the woods.
It is located in the highest and
dryest part of Moore County,
North Carolina, in the well
known sand belt, and among
the health giving long-leaf pines.
It is 70 miles southwest of
Raleigh and 125 miles from
the sea coast, at an altitude of
650 feet, and noted for its
healthfulness. The village was
founded by Mr. James W. Tufts
of Boston, in 1895, and con
sists of fifty cozy cottages,
elegantly furnished hotels,
boarding and apartment hous
es, public casino, village hall,
in
scnooinouse, store,- mu
seum and other public
buildings. The Carolina,
the largest hotel in the
state, is a magnificent four
story hostelry erected this
season, with appointments
calculated to gratify the
most luxurious tastes. The
Holly Inn is quiet and
home-like, with all modem
comforts and conveniences.
The Berkshire has been
enlarged to more than
double its former size, and
is up-to-date in every respect.-

access, and covers over 150
acres. A professional golf
er is in charge and his
services as a teacher are
available. There are few
days, even in the coldest
part of the winter, when
golf cannot be played with
comfort and great physical
