Mrs. Westmore Wilcox and son, Norfolk, Va.. have returned home after a pleasant visit. Mrs. Julia Shea and Miss Julia Shea, Boston. Mass., come for a visit which will extend over several weeks. Dr. II. A. Wilson, Woodbury, N. Y., is here for rest and recreation. Mr. William A. Clark, New York, is here for several weeks, and is enjoying golf. Mr. E. II. Clark, Burlington, Vt., was a visitor during the week. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Maitland and Miss Mait- laud, Philadelphia, Pa., will remain until May iirst. Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Mr. and Mrs. John N. Hetrick, Lancaster. Ta.. were guests during the week. Mrs. P. Blakisten and Miss Emma Blakisten. Philadelphia, Pa., are here for the balance of the 6eason. Mr. and Mrs. John II. Kelsey, Cambridge. Mass., are here for a brief sojourn. Mr. George M. Ludlow and family, Chicago. 111., were recent arrivals and will remain some weeks. Dr. and Mrs. Charles O. Kimball, New York. come for a few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence M. Miller, Baltimore. Md., will spend the balance of the season here. Mr. and Mrs. W. II. Andrews, Boston, Mass., are making a short visit. Mrs. Von Wagner, New York, is among the week's arrivals. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard T. Davis, Erie. Pa.. will spend March and April here. Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Myers, and Miss Bertha Myers, Lancaster, Pa., are making a short stay. The departure or Mrs. Thomas ue G. Richard son, Master Thomas de (). Richardson, Jr., and Mrs. Katherine Smith, Germantown, Pa., is re gretted by their many friends. Mrs. Richardson is a stinking brunette who has been a social favorite and much admired. Mrs. William Lamb, Miss Gertrude Lamb and Miss Katherine Lamb, New York, are com pleting a several months sojourn during which time they have made many pleasant acquaint ances. The Misses Lamb are especially fond of out-door sports and have won both golf and tennis cups. They have also been elected mem bers of the Tin Whistles Auxiliary. Mr. P. R. Babcock of Chicago, 111., returns home after a pleasant sojourn here. He has made many friends among the younger set. THE CflROItlflfl PINEHURST, N. C. The Carolina is a magnificent four-story building completed in 1900. The Interior is a model of elegance, with appointments calculated to suit the most luxu rious tastes. The hotel .accommodates four hundred guests and is provided with fifty-four suites with bath. The cuisine and table service are unsurpassed. Since it was built in 1895, it has been necessary to enlarge it several times to meet the constantly increasing demand. The interior is elegant, cheerful and tasteful. No modern con venience is lacking. There are bath rooms, electric lights, steam heat and open fireplaces. There is a call bell in every room, and all beds are furnished with best hair mattresses. An orchestra furnishes fine concerts daily, and also provides for dancing. The cuisine is unsurpassed. The waitresses are all white girls from the North.
