A SPECIAL eighteen-hole, medal play,
handicap, with cups for the two
best gross and the three best net scores,
open to all not participating in the conso
lation tournament was a popular feature
Saturday. There were lif ty-one entries,
and forty-three handed in cards ranging
from seventy-six to ninety-one.
W. S. North of the Riverside Golf Club,
Chicago, playing with a handicap of
nine, and C. A. Lockwood of the High
land Golf Club, Jamaica, N. Y., whose
allowance was thirty-five strokes, tied
for the first net score cup at seventy-six
each. In the play-off Lockwood won.
S. McMillan of Cleveland, Ohio, whose
handicap was twelve, won the third cup
with seventy-seven.
Edwin A. Freeman of the Montclair
Golf Club, New Jersey, scratch, won the
cup ottered for the best gross score, with
a card of eighty-one, leading J. D. Climo
of the Euclid Golf Club, Cleveland,
Ohio, whose handicap was three, three
strokes.

Sew Hampshire Children Will Meet
for Organization.
A meeting for the purpose of organ
izing an association of the "Sons and
Daughters of New Hampshire" will be
held in the King's Daughters Hall,
Southern Pines, this (Saturday) after
noon, at 2 :30 o'clock.
All who were born in the Granite
State, who have resided or who have
business interests there are cordially in
vited to be present. A large company
and a pleasant meeting is assured.
