Paterson, winner of the women's event in last year's United North and South Amateur Championship Tourna ment, will be glad to learn that she was the winner of the recent Baltusrol Club Championship, defeating Mrs. E. A. Man ice, winner of the Metropolitan Cham pionship, six up and four to play in the final round. Mrs. Paterson and Mrs. Manice have had many close matches, but this is the rinehurst player's first victory. Mrs. Paterson has been a visitor here for many years, and her return later in the season, h anticipated with pleasure. AT THE !!: A IIT.UET STOltE. Important Change Made and Sew Feature Added. Important changes have just been com pleted in the Department Store which will be appreciated by patrons. The Souvenir department, located in a room at the rear of the store, has been moved to the front, adjoining the Pharmacy, and the loom formerly occupied is now devoted to the shoe and mens furnishings depart ment. The toys are located opposite the souvenirs. A new feature of special interest to women, is the complete art needlework department which will contain many new features in the shape of cut leather work, palmetto palm leaf work, etc. The Pharmacy has also been trans formed in the course of the past weeks and presents a most attractive appear ance. The stock lias also been consider ably enlarged. ALL WAJI'T THE OUTLOOK. Subscription for the Paper Coming from Many Source. Among the subscriptions for The Out look received during the week was one from Mr. John I). Rockefeller. Mr. .Rockefeller was a delighted visitor here last winter and it will be gratifying to the many who had the pleasure of meet ing him, to learn that he still retains an interest in the Village, and will probably return for a visit later in the season. Another subscription was from Derby, England; one of several papers that will make a journey across the Atlantic weekly during the winter, bringing good cheer to Pinehurst Lovers. Guest of Mm. Cotter. Mrs. George L. Sanderson, of Williams port, Pa., is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. T. 15. Cotter, at The Cypress. Mrs. Sanderson spent last winter here and made many pleasant acquaintances. first Tea of Season. The first of the regular Saturday after noon teas was served at the Golf Club House Saturday afternoon and enjoyed by over seventy-five of the Village guests. The Holly Inn orchestra furnished music. Frazer, of Brook lyn, winning with a net score of 104, shooting with a handicap of seventy-five. J. V. Hall, of Pittsburg, Pa., whose handicap was also seventy-five, was a close second with 181, and the balance of the field was bunched between 107 and 118. Owing to the fact that Saturday tour naments conflict somewhat with the Sat urday morning golf fixtures, shoots will be held Fridays for the present.
